The Christmas Ships fleet charts its way to the awaiting crowds at Lake Oswego.
In 1954, one simply decorated sailboat began a beloved tradition in the Pacific Northwest. Over more than half a century, the Portland Christmas Ships Parade has grown into the longest continuously operating illuminated boat parade in the United States, with around 80 boats participating throughout the season lighting up the Columbia and Willamette Rivers for fifteen magical nights every December.
